How is FamCove different from Cozi or FamilyWall?

FamCove adds three things the leaders don't: per-event coverage planning, a school-PDF / email importer, and FSA-ready childcare receipts. We're also ad-free (Cozi shows ads in the free tier) and built specifically with co-parenting in mind, including a court-ready audit log.

Is FamCove free?

Yes — the core shared calendar, coverage planning, and basic chore tracking are free. A paid tier unlocks unlimited events, school-calendar sync, and the reimbursement tracker.

Does FamCove work for separated or co-parenting families?

Yes. Co-parenting was a primary design target. FamCove keeps a court-ready audit log of every change, message, and handoff, and the coverage-planning model maps cleanly to custody schedules.

What devices does FamCove support?

Today: iPhone and iPad, plus a web companion at famcove.com. Android is on the roadmap.

Does FamCove sell my family's data or use it to train AI?

No. FamCove does not sell your data, does not run advertising, does not include third-party tracking SDKs, and does not use your data to train AI models. You can export everything as JSON at any time and delete your account in two taps.

What about privacy?

The forwarded email body is processed transiently — sent to OpenAI for extraction, then discarded. We retain only the resulting event metadata (title, date, location, description) on your family calendar. The original email contents are not stored beyond the extraction step. Your inbound address is unique to your household and not shared.

How does email-to-calendar-event work?

Each FamCove household gets a unique inbound email address (family-<token>@inbound.famcove.com). Forward any email — a school newsletter, a soccer practice schedule, a doctor's appointment confirmation — to that address and our AI extracts every dated item, classifies each one, and queues them for your approval before adding to the family calendar.

What kinds of emails work?

Anything with dates: school newsletters, sports league schedules, daycare year calendars, doctor's appointment confirmations, summer camp itineraries, even Eventbrite RSVPs. The AI is reasonably tolerant of layout — works on plain text, HTML, and images-with-text emails.

Is the AI accurate?

Each extracted event has a confidence score. We flag anything below 50% so you can review before adding. The preview screen lets you deselect events you don't want with a single tap, then bulk-add the rest in one tap.

Can I forward emails from any account?

Yes — just forward from whichever email you originally received the message in. The forward goes to your inbound address; FamCove processes the body of the forwarded message regardless of the sending account.

What happens if I forward something with no dates?

Nothing — the AI returns an empty result and we don't add anything to your calendar. You'll see a quick "no events found" notification.

Is this private?

Yes. Forwarded email bodies are processed transiently for AI extraction and stored only as the resulting event metadata (title, date, location). The original email body is not retained beyond the extraction step. Your inbound address is private to you.
