How is FamCove different from Cozi or FamilyWall?

FamCove adds three things the leaders don't: per-event coverage planning, a school-PDF / email importer, and FSA-ready childcare receipts. We're also ad-free (Cozi shows ads in the free tier) and built specifically with co-parenting in mind, including a court-ready audit log.

Is FamCove free?

Yes — the core shared calendar, coverage planning, and basic chore tracking are free. A paid tier unlocks unlimited events, school-calendar sync, and the reimbursement tracker.

Does FamCove work for separated or co-parenting families?

Yes. Co-parenting was a primary design target. FamCove keeps a court-ready audit log of every change, message, and handoff, and the coverage-planning model maps cleanly to custody schedules.

What devices does FamCove support?

Today: iPhone and iPad, plus a web companion at famcove.com. Android is on the roadmap.

Does FamCove sell my family's data or use it to train AI?

No. FamCove does not sell your data, does not run advertising, does not include third-party tracking SDKs, and does not use your data to train AI models. You can export everything as JSON at any time and delete your account in two taps.

What's a printable reading log?

A one-page form a parent fills in nightly: date, book title, minutes read, parent initials. Schools require it for K-5 reading homework (usually 20 min/night), library summer reading challenges, and Accelerated Reader tracking. The log gets signed and turned in monthly.

Why does FamCove make it better than a free Pinterest PDF?

Pinterest PDFs are paper-only. FamCove logs each session in 5 seconds on your phone (date auto-fills, last book remembered), shows the kid a streak counter to keep them motivated, and generates the printable PDF anytime — for any date range. No more 'where's the log?' on the morning it's due.

Is it free?

Yes. The reading log + printable PDF are free, unlimited entries per kid. We don't paywall something this fundamental.

Does it work for summer reading challenges?

Yes — set a season-long goal (target minutes + target books), pick the start/end dates, and the dashboard shows progress vs target. Generate the printable log at end-of-program for library submission.

Can both parents log entries?

Yes. Family-shared. Mom logs Monday's session, dad logs Tuesday's, the log shows both.

What about Accelerated Reader / Beanstack?

FamCove doesn't sync with school reading platforms (yet). For schools that use Beanstack/AR, FamCove serves as a parent-side personal log + monthly printable. Many parents use both: Beanstack for the school program, FamCove for the daily nightly tracking.

Will the school accept the FamCove printable?

Most do — it's a signed parent-completed log in the standard format (date, book, minutes, parent initials). Some teachers have a specific district form; FamCove's log makes filling THAT form 10x faster because all the data is in one place.
