How is FamCove different from Cozi or FamilyWall?

FamCove adds three things the leaders don't: per-event coverage planning, a school-PDF / email importer, and FSA-ready childcare receipts. We're also ad-free (Cozi shows ads in the free tier) and built specifically with co-parenting in mind, including a court-ready audit log.

Is FamCove free?

Yes — the core shared calendar, coverage planning, and basic chore tracking are free. A paid tier unlocks unlimited events, school-calendar sync, and the reimbursement tracker.

Does FamCove work for separated or co-parenting families?

Yes. Co-parenting was a primary design target. FamCove keeps a court-ready audit log of every change, message, and handoff, and the coverage-planning model maps cleanly to custody schedules.

What devices does FamCove support?

Today: iPhone and iPad, plus a web companion at famcove.com. Android is on the roadmap.

Does FamCove sell my family's data or use it to train AI?

No. FamCove does not sell your data, does not run advertising, does not include third-party tracking SDKs, and does not use your data to train AI models. You can export everything as JSON at any time and delete your account in two taps.

What's a team snack schedule?

Most youth sports teams (soccer, baseball, basketball, swim, gymnastics) ask each family to bring snacks + water for the team after one game per season. The schedule rotates so no family does it twice. The team mom usually emails a Google Sheet at the start of the season — and half the parents miss their week because the email scrolled off the bottom of the inbox.

How is FamCove different from TeamSnap?

TeamSnap is team-side software the coach pays for. FamCove is parent-side: you add your kid's team manually, list the other parents, and we auto-fairly distribute snack + water + carpool duty across the roster. The wedge is families with 2-3 kids on different teams using different management systems (TeamSnap, SportsEngine, rec league with no app). FamCove is the unified parent-side view across all of them.

Do all the parents need to install FamCove?

No. You enter the parent roster manually (just names + phones). FamCove generates the schedule + shows you who has what week. To share, you can print the schedule or text the assignments to the team mom.

How does the rotation algorithm work?

Round-robin across the parent roster, with you auto-included as 'Us'. The same team has separate rotations for snack, water, carpool, and cleanup so the same family doesn't get all duties on the same day. ISO-week aligned + deterministic, so re-generating after roster changes produces the same results.

Can I swap weeks with another family?

Yes — one tap. Open the rotation, click any assignment, pick a different parent from the roster. Status flips to 'swapped' so you have an audit trail.

What about uniform + packing?

Each team has a built-in packing list (jersey, shorts, shin guards, water bottle for soccer; jersey, glove, bat, helmet, cleats for baseball; etc.). Customize per team. Sunday night, glance at it instead of trying to remember if soccer practice needs cleats.

Does it import from TeamSnap or SportsEngine?

Manual roster entry only for now. iCal import from team management platforms is on the roadmap.
